Typical Issues
Initial account setup
“My barcode/password
doesn’t work”
- The
barcode is all digits; ensure that an “oh” is not entered in place of a
“zero.” It is best to copy and paste from the original email that we sent
you.
- The
temporary password is all letters. Do not enter a “zero” in place of an
“oh.” Again, it is better to copy and paste from the original email that
we sent you.
- When
using copy and paste, do not copy any leading or trailing blank spaces.
- Use
the password recovery hint system:
- Once
the account registration has been validated, the username and password
information must be entered. Make sure that you have scrolled down to see
the entire web page.
- Make
sure that you have entered username
information and password. The password must be re-entered.
This will ensure that you have correctly entered the password that you
have selected. Press “Save”
- Immediately
go to “Edit My Profile” and create a password reminder question and
answer. Typical questions are mother’s maiden name, my first pet’s name. Make
sure that the email address that is displayed is one that you regularly
use and not a junk hotmail type account that is checked once a month. Press
“Save”
Site logon
“The barcode and
password that you sent me no longer works.”
- Once a
BriercrestLive! Account has been verified, you must Login to the site with
the username and password that you have selected NOT the barcode and
temporary password that were included in the original email you received.
“I can’t remember my
password.”
- Use
the password reminder question; an email will be sent to the email address
that you have given to us as your regular email address.
“I can’t remember my username”
- Please
contact Briercrest Schools and we will be able to provide you with a new
username and password combination. Note: you will be asked to verify your
identity.
“I tried my Big Red
username and password and I still cannot get onto BriercrestLive!”
- The Big
Red username and password that you have used in the past are no longer
valid and have been replaced with your BriercrestLive! username and
password. Please use the username and password that you selected when you
validated your BriercrestLive! account.
“I have set up my
BriercrestLive! account and want to get back in. When I click on the link that
you sent me, it won’t let me login.”
- The
link that you were sent is simply to create your account. Once it has been
created, you can get to BriercrestLive! through the Briercrest website at www.briercrest.ca and follow the
quicklink. Or you can go directly there by entering https://live.briercrest.ca into the
address bar (note: it’s HTTPS not HTTP)
Finance
“When I click on ‘Get
my T2202A’ nothing happens.”
- The
T2202A form requires Adobe Reader. There is a link on the page if you need
to download it.
- There
are situations where an Adobe Reader installation may become damaged. The
link will download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader and
should correct any damaged previous versions.
“When I click on ‘Get My T2202A’ all I get is
a web page that reads…
‘Your request cannot be completed at this time…please contact the
Briercrest Financial Aid Coordinator at…’”
- Your
form is on hold. Please contact the person indicated at the phone number
provided.
“I don’t have a
printer; My printer is out of ink; My printer prints gibberish”
- The
T2202A tax form is a standard PDF Adobe Reader document. As such, it is a
graphic document as opposed to a text document. Some very old printers may
not print graphics correctly.
- Canada
Revenue Agency does not require the hard copy of the form to be included
in your tax preparation. Simply note the amounts displayed on screen and
include them on your tax forms. You can request a printed copy from us if
you require one for your own records.
